A presentation explaining how Southwark Council made the bold step to become a charge point operator and give local authorities options regarding commercialisation opportunities.
It also talks about the issues that they came up against, and emerging technologies Local Authorities should be aware about. With London Authorities having to tighten their belts and find new ways to bring new money in, EV charging infrastructure might be the opportunity for Local Authorities to bring in new revenue streams.

Ryan McGibbon
EV & Infrastructure Manager - Southwark Council
Ryan has been working in the Electrical Industry for 28 years and worked for Local Authority for 24 years. He started his journey as a fully qualified Electrician and worked his way up through the ranks into management, where he has managed both non-electrical and electrical projects for both the Housing and Highways Teams.
Ryan has worked for his current employer Southwark Council for 9 years as the Electrical and Street Lighting Manager and now in his current role as The EV & Infrastructure Manger.
Ryan has been involved in the EV sector for 6 years, he also sit on the ILP Technical Board where he has been involved in updating their GN13/26 Surge Protection for Exterior Lighting Installation Guidance Document.
