About

Powering Net Zero is three co-located conferences where engineers can meet, learn, and discuss all the most pertinent issues relating to engineering solutions to net zero.

With over 130 countries having set or considering targets to reduce emissions to net zero by 2050, it’s vital that engineers in all sectors gain a 360˚ overview of the technologies and strategies currently available, and the innovations and new work that will be needed to meet these targets.

Powering Net Zero comes just ahead of COP28, and the themes of all three conferences are central to the IET’s Strategy 2030.

Renewable Power Generation and Future Power Systems

In order to achieve ambitious environmental goals, a substantial increase in the contribution of renewable sources to the energy generation mix is required.

As well as looking at renewable power generation, this new conference will examine future power systems, the key challenges involved and how the whole system can work together to achieve net zero.

Energy Storage

Energy storage is a key enabler for the decarbonisation of our energy systems to achieve a Net-Zero future. Our first Energy Storage conference will provide a platform for energy storage professionals to discuss and share their work with their peers, colleagues, and leading figures in the field.

Topics will include energy storage for decarbonisation of transportation, emerging battery technologies, circular economy, market, regulation & policy, energy storage infrastructure and supply chain.

Charging Ahead

If we’re going to meet government plans for increasing electric vehicle adoption, and phase out petrol and diesel fuelled cars, it’s vital that the charging infrastructure keeps pace.

Charging Ahead takes a detailed look at the technologies behind EV infrastructure, where we are now and where we need to get to over the next few years. You’ll also learn about the latest innovations in fast charging, battery swapping, and more.
