About

The IET Media Technical Network is delighted to host a webinar focused on the latest advances in Post Quantum Security. This is in cooperation with the IET Internet Of Things and IET Quantum Engineering Technical Networks, and part of its ‘Field Notes Series’ for 2025, which is focused on aspects of Security in the modern media world.

As quantum computing advances, so does the need for organizations to adopt secure cryptographic methods that withstand the new wave of cyber threats.

In this webinar, experts from Kudelski IoT will explore what embedded engineers and developers need to know to implement quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms effectively, protect devices against advanced side-channel and fault injection attacks, and ensure long-term security in a rapidly evolving quantum landscape.

In this webinar, you’ll learn:

Why Quantum-Secure Solutions Matter:
Understand the quantum computing threat landscape and why hybrid cryptographic systems—integrating both classical and post-quantum algorithms—are crucial for digital resilience.

Defense Against Quantum-Specific Attacks:
Discover how threats like side-channel and fault injection attacks will also target post-quantum algorithms, and how attackers exploit these vulnerabilities to gain access to sensitive data.

Practical Countermeasures for Embedded Devices:
Get actionable strategies for securing post-quantum implementations with advanced techniques and dedicated hardware protections while enabling design updates in case of new threat from secure system architecture perspective.

Speakers

Graham Turner

Member of IET Media Technical Network

Graham Turner has been involved with media technology for most of his working life.  Since the late 1980s he has been heavily involved with content protection, mainly as a consultant helping numerous broadcasters launch or enhance pay services or, at times, fight piracy of those services.  He was one of the authors of the content protection white paper which formed part of the launch package for the European Digital Video Broadcasting project.  He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the IET and a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Karine Villegas

Senior Principal Security and Cryptography Architect - Kudelski IoT

Karine Villegas is a Senior Principal Security and Cryptography Architect at Kudelski IoT, based in Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland. With over two decades of experience, Karine has established herself as an expert in cryptography and security architecture, focusing on fields that demand robust protection against attacks, such as banking, identity, telecom, PayTV, and IoT.

Her security architecture expertise spans from hardware design to full system with cryptographic algorithms, key managements consideration and physical assessment of implementations through advanced side-channel and fault analysis techniques.

She drives product security architecture, ensuring security compliance, certification and competitive advantage for products definition. As a technical authority, she contributes to academic papers and patents.

In addition to her hands-on work, she is a dedicated educator, delivering lectures and training for R&D teams and clients worldwide.

Karine holds an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics from the French National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) and a master conference grade from French university in Cryptography. She also engaged in humanitarian projects and academic mentorship.
