About

REMAP is a charity born out of the desire of an engineer in ICI on Teesside, to help his disabled sister by making some improvements to her home.  From a group of volunteer engineers, REMAP has become an  independent national charity which completes around 3500 projects every year helping disabled people to become more independent, maintain their dignity and support their quality of life by making bespoke equipment for disabled people where nothing is commercially available.  We seek to help children and adults of all ages, having diverse needs. Referrals come to us mainly through the NHS Occupational Therapist service and we work closely with them to make sure that solutions are appropriate, safe and meet the needs of the patient.  All equipment is provided free of charge to the user.  Volunteers with practical and problem-solving skills  are always welcome to join and contribute to the work which we find rewarding.
