The Inga Hydroelectric Power Station, situated in the Democratic Republic of Congo, can, when fully developed, become the biggest hydroelectric power station in the World with an installed capacity of 45,000 MW.
The energy that it will then produce will be able to electrify the whole African continent. The talk will give you an overview of the power complex, its stages of development, its opportunities and its challenges.
Speaker: Hemchand Rai HEEROO, BSc (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), MEng (Electrical Engineering), MBA, CEng, MIET, RPEM, MIEM.
Rai is a power engineer and energy specialist with over 40 years experience. He has worked at the Central Electricity Board, the African Development Bank and the World Bank. He is presently a registered energy auditor and a freelance energy consultant.
