RMS- BLT: Babbage, Lovelace, Turing & the birth of AI
About
This talk will explore the life of Charles Babbage, the
“irascible genius” known as the Father of the
Computer, and discuss how Ada Lovelace, his
“enchantress of number” and celebrated as the first
computer programmer, wrote about his radical ideas
for the Analytical engine. After a gap of a hundred
years, these ideas were picked up by Alan Turing
who fired the starting gun in the race for Artificial Intelligence.
