Smart Eyewear for Monitoring Cardiovascular Health and Mental Condition hosted by IET Malaysia Network
About
Abstract
The escalating age of the global population is leading to a rise in socio-economic burdens. To address these challenges, many parties have suggested using mobile health (m-health) solutions. M-health involves the use of wearable sensors, mobile computing, and communication technologies to deliver healthcare services anytime and anywhere. This continuous and non-intrusive monitoring facilitates early intervention, lowers healthcare expenses, and improves the quality of life. Traditional monitoring methods focus on physiological signals such as electrocardiograms (ECG), blood pressure, and heart rate. However, there is a growing interest in exploring alternative monitoring methods for better accessibility and comprehension of patients' health. The speaker will explore how characteristics derived from pupillary dynamics, eye movements, and head movements correlate with certain cardiovascular and mental health conditions. Building on this premise, the speaker will delve deeper into biosignal processing and feature extraction techniques for the development of a smart eyewear m-health system.
