How we learn about stars

This talk will cover observations of different types of stars and how we learn about them. This will be discussed in the context of observations and diagnostic diagrams, such as famous Hertzsprung-Russell diagrams. The Sun will be set into context against other stars and the importance of more massive stars and supernovae will be explored.
