Switzerland Local Network AGM
About
Join the IET Switzerland and Germany Local Networks for a collaborative AGM weekend in Zurich, bringing together members from both networks for governance, knowledge sharing, networking and social activities. The programme includes separate AGM meetings for each Local Network, followed by joint speaker sessions featuring presentations on a range of technical and professional topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with fellow engineers and technology professionals during informal social gatherings, including pre-dinner drinks and an evening meal. For those wishing to extend their visit, optional activities on Sunday include lunch in central Zurich and a visit to the Focus Terra museum at ETH Zürich. This unique event offers an excellent opportunity to engage with the wider IET community, exchange ideas, and enjoy a weekend of professional and social interaction in one of Switzerland’s most vibrant cities.

Saturday, 7 November 2026
12:30 - Arrival and registration at the Swiss AGM - Attendees are invited to arrive from 12:30 for refreshments and registration before the meeting begins.
13:00 - 15:15 - IET Switzerland Local Network AGM - Annual General Meeting of the Switzerland Local Network, including committee updates and network business.
15:30 - 17:30 - Joint Speaker Session - Members of the Switzerland and Germany Local Networks come together for guest speaker presentations and knowledge sharing.
17:45 - Pre-Dinner Drinks - Informal networking over an apero at Brasserie Federal, located within Zurich Hauptbahnhof.
19:00 - Networking Dinner - An informal evening meal at Kennedy's Irish Pub, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow members and guests.
Sunday, 8 November 2026 (Optional Activities)
13:30 - Lunch at Zeughauskeller - Join fellow attendees for lunch at one of Zurich's best-known restaurants.
15:00 - 16:00 - Focus Terra Museum Visit - Guided tour of ETH Zurich's Focus Terra museum, including the earthquake simulator, with opportunities to explore exhibits on geology, space exploration and plate tectonics.
From 16:00 - Optional Free Time and Departure - Attendees may begin their journeys home or continue exploring Zurich..
