Organised by Management Section

About

In the rapidly evolving landscape of the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) era, Engineers are increasingly required to develop and leverage soft competencies to thrive in their roles. This seminar, titled "The Soft Competence of 'Human' Jobs for Engineers under VUCA and AI Era," aims to explore the critical soft skills that engineers need to succeed in today's dynamic and technologically advanced environment.

The seminar will delve into the importance of emotional intelligence, effective communication, adaptability, and creative problem-solving. Participants will gain insights into how these competencies can enhance their ability to collaborate with diverse teams, manage complex projects, and navigate the uncertainties brought about by rapid technological advancements.

Through interactive sessions, case studies, and expert discussions, attendees will learn practical strategies to develop and strengthen their soft skills. The seminar will also highlight real-world examples of engineers who have successfully integrated these competencies into their professional lives, demonstrating the tangible benefits of a balanced skill set that combines technical expertise with human-centric abilities. Members of the IET Hong Kong would gain the knowledge and know-how to enhance their soft competencies, enabling them to excel in their careers and contribute effectively to their organizations in the VUCA and AI era.
