Technical Visit - CLP Power Low Carbon Energy Education Centre
Organized by: Younger Members Section Committee, IET Hong Kong
About
We are thrilled to invite you to an informative technical visit to the CLP Power Low Carbon Energy Education Centre.
Climate change is bringing increasingly significant impacts on various aspects of the global community, including rising global temperatures, extreme weather events, and biodiversity loss. These changes endanger ecosystems, human health, and food security. Low carbon energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydropower, play a crucial role in mitigating climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By investing in low carbon technologies, we can create a cleaner environment, foster innovation, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come, ultimately combating the adverse effects of climate change.
In this technical visit, participants will learn about the importance of low carbon energy in addressing climate change by visiting 5 themed zones, namely Climate Change and Fuel Choice, Renewable Energy, Natural Gas, Nuclear Power, and Powering the Future. It is expected that participants would be able to appreciate the cruciality of the increasing adoption of low carbon fuel sources, and would be inspired, as young engineers, to contribute to a future of carbon neutrality in their respective positions. Please register your interest at the earliest, as spaces are limited. We look forward to welcoming you to an informative and engaging technical visit.
