About the Visit:

CLP Power Hong Kong Limited is the largest electricity supplier in Hong Kong, serving 6 million people in its supply area with a world-class supply reliability of 99.999%. The System Control Centre is the core hub of its operation, being one of the world’s most advanced power system control centres.
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the power systems, professional engineers in the System Control Centre monitor real-time system operations 24-hour a day, coordinating the operation of power generation, transmission and distribution systems, and maintaining close communication with other departments.

In this technical visit, participants will go through the video wall and perform window sighting for the System Control Room to get an understanding of the power generation, transmission and internal operation. It is expected that participants would be able to appreciate the cruciality of the centre to a reliable power grid, and how professional engineers coordinate the operation of power generation, transmission and distribution systems smoothly and efficiently in real time.
