Technical Visit to Citygallery
Organized by Younger Members Section Committee, IET Hong Kong
About
Discover the story of Hong Kong's evolving cityscape with a guided visit to the Citygallery — the principal public exhibition venue operated by the Planning Department, dedicated to showcasing the city's urban planning journey and long-term infrastructure vision. Situated in the heart of Central, it serves as a window into how Hong Kong is shaping its built environment for future generations.
Through multimedia installations, architectural models, and interactive displays, the Citygallery illustrates how land use planning, transport network design, and infrastructure delivery are integrated to support sustainable growth. Key thematic zones — including Building Hong Kong for Tomorrow, Two Strategic Growth Areas, and Transport and Other Infrastructure — reveal the coordinated efforts behind the city's long-term development objectives. Participants will also explore the featured exhibition "Green Liveable City," highlighting innovative approaches to green living, climate resilience, and environmental conservation within an urban context.
Bridging strategic planning with practical infrastructure delivery, this visit is a chance to broaden your perspective on Hong Kong's urban development ecosystem, connect with fellow engineering professionals, and see how the Planning Department is helping to shape Hong Kong as a world-class, liveable, and sustainable city.
