Technical Visit to CLP Pulse

About
The Management Section of IET Hong Kong is placed to organize a technical visit to CLP Pulse on Saturday, 31 October 2026.
Located at 147 Argyle Street, Ho Man Tin, CLP Pulse is housed in the revitalised CLP Clock Tower, a Grade 1 historic building that served as CLP’s headquarters from 1940 to 2012. Today, the site operates as a cultural and heritage hub, connecting Hong Kong’s electricity history with the city’s wider social, industrial and community development.
The visit will begin with regasification at 10:45 am, followed by a docent-led guided tour from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Participants will explore more than 870 square meters of exhibition space featuring interactive exhibits, multimedia galleries and heritage artefacts.

Reasons to attend
Participants will also have an opportunity to visit Living Craftsmanship, and exhibition presented by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office. The exhibition showcases eight traditional craftsmanship items that form part of Hong Kong’s rich intangible cultural heritage.
The visit offers members and engineering professionals and accessible opportunity to reflect on the relationship between energy, infrastructure, technology, heritage conservation and the development of Hong Kong. It is particularly relevant to those interested in energy systems, utility management, engineering heritage, sustainability, urban development and the evolution of essential public infrastructure.

The guided tour will cover two permanent exhibitions:
· ElectriCity, which traces Hong Kong’s electricity journey and the role of power infrastructure in the city’s development through engaging and interactive experiences.
· Our Home · Our History, which explores the contribution of the Kadoorie businesses and charities to Hong Kong’s post-war development and community life.
