About

The Management section is scheduled to organize a Technical Visit to Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant. The Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant (TKODP) is one of a major infrastructure projects under "Total Water Management (TWM) Strategy", which Water Supplies Department has been implementing since 2008 to better prepare Hong Kong for uncertainties such as acute climate changes and low rainfall. The TKODP is an 8-hectare site and has ultimate water production capacity at 270 000 cubic meter per day which provides reliable and adequate supply of wholesome potable water.

A guided tour from the consultant, “Binnies Hong Kong Limited”, will brief participants from the design, construction, supply and installation to operation and maintenance of the TKODP. During the guided tour, IET members can check out the adoption of the reverse osmosis (RO), multi-stage flash (MSF) principle, and other advanced water treatment technologies for the desalination plant.
