The IET Media Technical Network is delighted to host a webinar looking at what happens when a media services company is hacked – taking it from a real-life story. This is part of its ‘Field Notes Series’ for 2025, which is focused on aspects of Security in the modern media world.
Join us for an insightful webinar focused on the critical issue of media content protection in the face of increasing cyber threats. This event will bring together a diverse panel of experts, including victims of recent hacks, industry leaders, and law enforcement representatives, to discuss best practices, preventative measures, and the ongoing battle against cybercriminals.
Key Highlights:
Victim Perspectives: Hear a first-hand account from a large and highly respected media services company that was the victim of a major ransomware attack. They will share their experiences, the impact of the breaches, and the lessons learned in the aftermath.
Industry Best Practices: Representatives from leading industry bodies will outline effective strategies for safeguarding media content. They will discuss the importance of adopting robust security protocols and staying ahead of emerging threats. They will also outline the global reach and co-operation they have with law enforcement and other agencies in order to disrupt and hold to account criminals wherever they are operating.
Law Enforcement Insights: A special contribution from the City of London Police’s Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) will provide an overview of their role in investigating and prosecuting cybercriminals intent on stealing high value content. Learn about the challenges they face and the collaborative efforts required to track down bad actors.
