Wallets are Dead - Long live the Wallet. [Also viewable on-line]

Using NFC for financial transactions, and other applications.

About

Leather wallets and purses, stuffed with cards, vouchers, memberships, tickets and IDs, are fast becoming a thing of the past. We can now fearlessly leave home and use our trusty smartphones to interact with people and places in the real world. The use of mobile wallets is exploding, and the latest trend is for 'just tap' NFC technology to be used away from payments. With Apple, Google and Samsung each having their own platforms, and with Governments now exploring digital wallets for citizens, contactless technology is replacing barcodes and QR codes as a secure solution for a surprising number of cutting-edge mobile applications.
