The Evolution of Consumer Device Security
About
The IET Media Technical Network is delighted to host a webinar looking at the state of art for application, device and video security architectures as the world has moved towards commodity technical implementations. This is part of its ‘Field Notes Series’ for 2025, which is focused on aspects of Security in the modern media world.
Join us for an insightful webinar focused on how today the industry of video entertainment has moved from protections based on proprietary and obscure software and hardware solutions, towards solutions driven by some the biggest technical players of Microsoft, Google and Apple, as well as broad usage of trusted execution environments and new approaches to service aggregation.
· How has device security evolved since the first STBs
· What are key factors that are universal to now and future devices
· Do these solutions offer the best capabilities to protect content, services and privacy?
· Do they offer everything that an operator needs?
· What does the lack of diversity mean in the face of a compromise?
· What is the role of the new entrants in this business. What will be the impact of innovation or lack of it?
· How does service aggregation impact the device and application security?
· Where is device security going next?
