The Future of Lean in Manufacturing and Beyond
About
We are excited to announce an upcoming online seminar focused on the future of Lean methodologies in manufacturing and beyond. Lean has long been a cornerstone of operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and waste reduction in manufacturing. However, as industries evolve, digital transformation accelerates, and sustainability becomes a pressing priority, Lean principles must adapt to remain relevant. This seminar will explore how Lean is evolving and its application in industries beyond manufacturing. The event will feature two speakers who will share their expertise and insights on various aspects of Lean’s future.
Hear from our two speakers and then engage with our interactive breakout sessions so that attendees can share their perspectives on the evolution of Lean and the challenges they face in implementing operational excellence.
Speaker 1: Professor Konstantinos Salonitis
Professor Salonitis leads Cranfield’s research in sustainable manufacturing. He integrates Lean thinking to optimise systems and reduce environmental impact. His work bridges simulation, energy efficiency, and circular economy principles.
At the core is a commitment to Lean-green innovation for a Net Zero future.
His presentation will explore the history of Lean and how it now stands at a crossroads. His research will show Lean can be a cornerstone in sustainability in manufacturing and beyond.
Speaker 2: Ken Jones
Ken Jones is a leader in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence, with a proven track record across industries including automotive, healthcare, and energy. He specialises in delivering sustainable performance improvements through Lean principles, coaching, and strategic transformation. With experience at Jaguar Land Rover, Westinghouse, and Rittal-CSM. Ken has earned recognition from in Enterprise Excellence - a world first in Biotech.
He will present on overcoming barriers in a Lean Digital Transformation in Volume Manufacturing.
Interactive Session [20 minutes]
We will have an interactive segment with virtual breakout rooms so that attendees can share their perspectives on the evolution of Lean and the challenges they face in implementing operational excellence.
