The King's secret war: George VI and MI5
Presented by Professor Richard J Aldrich, FRHistS (Politics and International Studies, University of Warwick)
About
This is a Retired Engineers - Coventry and Warwickshire (http://www.retiredengineers.net) event supported by the IET and IMechE.
King Edward VIII’s meetings with Hitler presented a problem with the wartime security services also because MI5 and Winston Churchill believed that King George VI supported the desire for peace and Neville Chamberlain’s policies.
Prof. Aldrich will show how this gradually changed.
