Using Space Technologies to Engage Undergraduate and Pre-University students in Practical Skills Demonstration

Hosted by the University of Bristol

About

From the speaker: "During my time at university, I have made it my mission to make others passionate about space exploration, especially in the engineering field. Using the skills learnt in my degree and through my work in UoBSat I have encouraged many fellow students to undertake practical projects within the university, this involves everything from satellite design projects to developing Bristol’s first liquid rocket engine. In this talk, I detail using space as an engagement tool and the power practical projects have on undergraduate study.

I will also go over the use of teaching space electronics design and how bringing space examples into a class can give a unique insight into real-world applications.

Finally, I will detail my extremely interesting journey from BTEC student to PhD student and all the interesting work I have completed along the way."
