Volunteering day at Crossroads Village - Hong Kong Gold Coast
About
Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. Their goal is to be a‘crossroads’ in a broken world, connecting people in need with those who can help.
Almost all Crossroads’ staff are volunteers, including their full-time team, serving both locally and internationally. Groups are welcomed to visit and help out in various activities. General volunteering type of service with group size of around 20 is suggested to ensure everyone has a meaningful and productive day.
Groups are divided into different departments dealing with goods donations. Some of the tasks involved include:
- Sorting and packing donated goods: main task in our processing departments (e.g. toys, household goods, clothing, and book departments). Groups can also run collection drives for wanted goods
- Renovation: Activities include painting, gardening, landscaping, maintenance
- Heavy work: The work involved in our shipping and furniture departments can often include heavy work (e.g. preparing furniture for shipments, loading containers, and unloading trucks)
Note: Tasks listed above are for reference only, final arrangement is subject to hosting organization on the event date.
