Title: Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT): Principles, On-Chip 3D Imaging, and Emerging Trends

Synopsis:
Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that reconstructs material distribution from capacitance measurements. Its strengths—non-invasiveness, suitability for opaque media, and flexible electrode configurations—make it widely applicable in both industrial and biomedical settings.

This session will present recent advancements in miniaturised ECT for lab-on-chip systems, focusing on challenges such as central sensitivity and z-axis resolution. A proposed dual-layer distributed electrode design will be discussed and compared across various geometries. Applications in multiphase flow visualization, process monitoring, and biomedical diagnostics will be highlighted, alongside emerging trends in multimodal sensing and machine-learning-based reconstruction. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of ECT fundamentals, electrode design considerations, and real-world applications.

Title: Audio Signal Processing – Sensear: From Idea to Product

Synopsis:
This session introduces the principles of audio signal processing, with a focus on speech enhancement and other mathematical operations applied to audio signals. Using Sensear Pty Ltd as a case study, the session will trace the development of its technology—from conceptualisation to engineering implementation and commercialisation. Demonstrations will be included to provide participants with practical insights.
