Driving the Future of Freight: Welch's Sustainable Transport Revolution

Welch's Transport Ltd, is a prominent and forward-thinking family owned and operated freight transport company based in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. For nearly 90 years, the company has operated as a traditional logistics provider, focusing primarily on delivering goods efficiently. However, the company has recognised the pressing need for sustainable practices within the transport and logistics industry. This realisation became a catalyst for their transformation and led to them being one of the first operators of a fully electric, Battery Electric (BEV) 19 tonne rigid, in the UK. In this talk Chris Welch, Commercial & Operations Director at Welch's will explore the company's early adoption of sustainable supply chain models, including the introduction of AI into its fleet optimisation.
